WE ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE LAUNCH
OF OUR "KOLA & THE BOTTLE" COMIC BOOK!
Every plastic bottle has a story.
Most of them don’t end well.
This creative comic book written by Oluwaseyi Jesuton and illustrated by Mike Asukwo, pulls back the curtain on what really happens after “throwing it away” and how small daily actions or inactions can contribute to the problem or solution in more ways than we think.
This comic book was created as part of PlasticWize 2.0, a flagship initiative by U-recycle Initiative Africa. The story is created from real research from across Nigeria, combined with behavioural science to show how everyday choices drive plastic pollution and how you can take action to mitigate plastic pollution.
WHAT IS PLASTICWIZE 2.0?
PlasticWize 2.0 is a multi-year initiative themed Redefining Sustainable Campuses in Africa, with a focus on
equipping students and universities to become environmentally-conscious.
Reducing excessive plastic waste generation on university campuses
Changing behaviour and policy gaps that fuel pollution
Preventing tonnes of plastic waste from reaching landfills, streets, and oceans
Advancing circular economy solutions across Africa and more.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Students are at the centre of change. PlasticWize 2.0 collaborates with students and universities to transition to sustainable, plastic-pollution-free campuses, using tools, systems, and campaigns that actually make an impact.
